Why We Do What
We Do
Across decades in higher ed, we've watched well-designed initiatives quietly fail. Not because the strategy was wrong but because the people who needed to carry it out were never genuinely brought into the work. That pattern is what we now spend our time helping institutions restructure.
Our consulting and coaching practice is built on a simple premise: in higher education, change is a human process. Faculty and staff aren’t obstacles to student success work — they are the people who determine whether it happens at all. And the conditions for their genuine engagement don't build themselves. They are built by leaders who understand that invitation, co-creation, and trust are not luxuries. They’re the architecture that makes reform durable.
Our approach draws on Appreciative Inquiry, Human-Centered Design, adult learning theory, and the research on belonging and organizational change research — not as frameworks to layer on top of existing initiatives, but as practical tools for rethinking how to lead change.
We work primarily with leaders at the places where the stakes for students are highest and the urgency to get engagement right is most acute.
